  • - Vet canceled today's appointment; refill needed; I plan to cancel and leave a bad review.
  • - Next appt Feb 17; 3 weeks away; $25 late cancellation.
Dutch Pet - Vet canceled my appointment 5 minutes before and now I cannot schedule a new...

I had an appointment scheduled for today, and apparently the vet canceled the appointment, and I need my dog's medication ASAP. I just needed a refill, and they are saying that the next appointment isn't until February 17th, which is 3 weeks from now.

I need to speak with someone ASAP about this because this is *** How am I supposed to get my dog's medication?!?!?! I need to cancel Dutch Pet because apparently you guys are good for nothing, and I will make sure to leave a really bad review and let everyone know how bad you guys are.

Not to mention, when I cancel last minute, I get charged $25, but when you guys cancel, you give me a free rush shipping code, which isn't going to help me if I can't even see a vet for 3 weeks. What a joke!

Pros:
  • Cheap & helpful sometimes
Cons:
  • Suck

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Be prepared for anything! No phone number to even call and they spin you in circles when you're trying to message them.

Still haven’t received my cat prescription medicine food: dry and wet

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Video vet appointments are helpful, though overall service concerns exist.
  • - Order arrived with meds only; food missing.
  • - No follow-up on order.

That's just wrong, unethical, cruel, neglectful, and very rude. The vet's video appointments are always very helpful, but everything else is horrible.

Customer service is a nightmare—no follow-up on my order issue, no update. You'd not be able to reach anyone to get help—they just don't do it right. I've placed an order last Friday, paid for the rushed delivery so my cat feels better soon. Antibiotics and her prescriptions, dry and wet food: she has a crystal in her urine and shouldn't eat the regular food that caused it.

Last night (Monday) I got the delivery to find out it was only her meds. No food in this tiny plastic package!! Sadly, I got notifications my order was delivered—excuse me, where are my kitty foods?? Somehow, someone messed up with my order and forgot to include the food (19 pounds weight total) but the meds only.

I've made many attempts today to get it resolved, but instead of help, I got ignorance at least. I cannot start her on the antibiotics because she has to have something in her stomach! My poor kitty has suffered and will continue to suffer for how long? Until they finally decide to ship her food.

Another 5-7 days to treat her infection and treat her urine crystals. That's wrong. Too bad. Unethical.

Cruel. Neglectful.

Pros:
  • Telehealth
Cons:

Preferred solution: My cat food delivery, apologies and compensation for this nightmare- my cat condition is getting worse- thx to Dutch delivery and customer service team that made my experience a nightmare.

Fraud

AI Highlights
  • - Vet canceled two appointments last-minute, with a $25 no-show charge.
  • - Flea and tick prescriptions were booked as recurring despite my instructions.

Two vet appointments cancelled at the last minute by vet and I was then charged $25 for No-show. Then two flea and tick prescriptions that i got at postponed appointment were booked as RECURRING despite my explicit instructions.

Customewr support was unable to correct the problem and asked me to purchase recurring and they would fix it.

How's that for customer service? Sounds like fraud to me.

Garbage company

AI Highlights
  • - Charged $130 for a yearly plan; the app never worked.
  • - Membership was canceled immediately, despite months left.

Robbed me of $130. There "customer service" just tells you they cant actually access ANYTHING to help you.

They tell you they will call you back, they dont. So i canceled the membership under the understanding id still have around 6 months left on mt account since i PAID for an entire year. Nope took my account away immediately.

Never got to use it once as something was always wrong with the app and the customer service just tells you to go to an actual in person vet and that everything must go through their higher up tech team. Robbed of $130 do not use this scam

I was ripped off and the vet they assign dr mcallen she has screaming kids in the call and when we asked about the noise she said we can just hang up if we don’t like it after we paid for this servio

AI Highlights
  • - Dr. McAllen was late to the 09:10 call and there was noise from kids.
  • - We couldn't hear due to background noise and the consult was unhelpful.

We set up a call with Dr. McAllen at 09:10 today.

She was late to the appointment, and when she finally showed up, there were kids—lots of kids—making noise in the background. Our dog is sick, and we couldn't hear. She told us if we didn't like it, to hang up. Since we were in need, we put up with her unprofessional manner.

In the end, she didn't help. I might as well have listened to ChatGPT instead of this unprofessional person. She shouldn't be dealing with people, humans, or even kids.

She can't even keep them quiet during a consultation. This is so disappointing.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. They apologized, said they will re-educate staff on generic medications and applied a discount to my upcoming medication for my pet.

Original review Apr 15, 2025
I am absolutely furious with Dutch, the online pet pharmacy, and I feel obligated to warn every pet owner to stay far, far away from this company. Over the past six months, theyve been charging my credit card different prices than what I agreed towithout any notification or consent.

Check your credit card statements if you use them, because they will sneak charges through and hope you dont notice. That alone would be enough to lose my trust, but it gets worse. Theyve randomly canceled my pets critical medication subscriptions without informing me, leaving my pet vulnerable and me scrambling to find alternatives last minute. They agreed to price match a generic medication, and then days later told me they changed their policy and wont honor it anymore, claiming the medication is now a brand (its notits generic and always has been!).

Their shifting excuses are absolutely absurd. I was told one thing, and then the terms changed mid-process with zero accountability on their end. Their customer service is downright appallingunhelpful, dismissive, and routed overseas to representatives who either dont have access to accurate information or simply dont understand the situation. No one takes ownership, no one follows through, and their system is a chaotic mess that puts your pets health at risk.

Dutch is shady, unreliable, and unprofessional. Im done with them, and I strongly urge other pet owners to protect their walletsand their petsand go elsewhere.
Pros:
  • Convenience
Cons:
  • Poor customer service
  • Hidden charges

Preferred solution: Price reduction

Incompetent and incoherent

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Vet visits were fine; the pharmacy isn't; phone support is poor.
  • - They want a new flea prescription for two pets; the old one is weeks old.

Vet visits were fine. Pharmacy is not so fine.

Phone number doesn't work. Chat window is operated by a badly programmed AI model, and the people who answer emails are nearly incoherent. I've had 3 emails from them today and I still don't have a clear understanding of why they want me to get a new prescription for flea preventative when my old one is only a few weeks old. But not for all of my pets.

Nope. They refilled one just fine, but want me to arrange new vet visits for the other two.

Have spent the last hour trying to call them, but they don't answer, and also won't let you hold longer than 2 minutes, then they kick the call off to an answering machine that never calls you back. So you can't even wait in line with the hope of eventually being answered.

User's recommendation: Use the vet service if you want, but get your prescription transferred to a more competent pharmacy.

  • - I like the vet appointments; the vets are nice.
  • - Prescriptions take about 2 weeks by mail; expedited is $20 or $10 to Costco; Walgreens had none.

I do like the vet appointments and vets are nice. Im mad about getting prescriptions. It has taken me 2 weeks to get a pain pill for my dog, 2 WEEKS through regular mail!!

You can pay an additional $20 to have it expedited or $10 to transfer to Costco which has pet meds.

I tried to transfer to Walgreens but they didnt have that prescription and was a waste of time !

NO PRESCRIPTION SENT

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Goliath's Sept 22 appointment at 4:50 for a severe double ear infection; $130.
  • - Prescription not emailed; $5 to email; no reply; dog still in pain.

My appointment was for my dog Goliath for a severe double ear infection was at 4:50 on September 22, 2025. I was charged $130 for visit.

The Dr told me that he would send a prescription in 10 minutes to my email for me to print out and take to a local pharmacy. No prescription was sent. When I contacted customer service they sent me a message that I had to pay $5 to transfer the prescription to my email instead of it being sent in the mail, the Dr was prescribing ear drops that require refrigeration, so they cannot be sent in the mail. I also told him my dog was crying out in pain from the infection.

When I clicked on the link customer service provided me to pay the $5 it sent me to my account where no prescription was prescribed. I sent Tori, the customer service representative a return email with a screenshot of that page showing no prescription. I received no response. My dog is still in pain and I will need to pay for an urgent care visit tomorrow as his vet is completely booked.

Im disabled with chronic health conditions and do not have extra money to be paying for this. Im very disappointed on this low vibrational activity and plan on reporting this to the better Business Bureau for fraudulent activity upon a disabled citizen.
